Conference Report OID 2015

The third annual Open Identity Summit took place on November 10th-11th 2015 in Berlin, co-located with the Information Security Solutions Europe (ISSE). A variety of topics were discussed and presented relating to open standards and interfaces, open source technologies, cloud computing, secure and privacy- friendly identity management at the center. The Call for Papers was announced in the spring of 2015 and a total of 7 full papers (acceptance rate ~ 37 % ) and 4 short papers were accepted. The program was complimented by two keynote contributions.

The first day consisted of presentation sessions regarding Mobile eID, Authentication, and Cloud and Data Management. The Mobile eID session had an interesting presentation on the results found in the SSEDIC. 2020 on Mobile eID. The Authentication session had topics regarding the innovative building blocks necessary for a versatile authentication and proxied authentication in single sign-on setups with common open source systems. Further, the Cloud and Data Management session went into discussion on proxy re-encryption for secure data management and a secure cloud usage for financial IT. In addition to the sessions, there was also a key note by Alexander Sazonov from the National Certification Authority from Russia, who spoke about UN/CEFACT´s work on legally significant trusted transboundary electronic interaction towards global trust services.

The second day of the program highlighted on session discussions regarding Open Source and Identity Management. The Open Source session touched on Quality Management in Open Source Projects and experiences from the Open eCard Project. Further, the Identity Management session discussed the economic Issues of federated Identity management, evaluations of complex identity management systems and empirical results regarding the identity management and cloud computing in the automotive industry.

The 4th Open Identity Summit is scheduled to be from October 13th to 14th, 2016 in Rome, Italy. The call for papers will be announced in January 2016 on the website
